Pathways to NCAA: Melisa Kekic Commits to the University of Michigan
At Fort Erie International Academy, we are proud to support elite athletes at critical points along their development journey — including those preparing for NCAA opportunities. As part of our Pathways to NCAA spotlight, we recognize Melisa Kekic on her recent commitment to the University of Michigan Women’s Soccer Program.
Melisa is a nationally recognized athlete who has represented Canada Soccer, competing within Canada’s high-performance pathway. Most recently, she trained alongside FEIA’s high-performance soccer environment, working with Aleks Balta as part of her preparation for the next level.
FEIA’s soccer program is designed to support athletes pursuing elite post-secondary pathways by providing access to professional-level coaching, structured training environments, and performance standards aligned with NCAA expectations. During her time training with FEIA, Melisa exemplified the focus, maturity, and competitive edge required to succeed at the Division I level.
Her commitment to the University of Michigan — one of the most respected programs in NCAA women’s soccer — reflects both her long-term dedication to the game and the importance of surrounding oneself with high-performance environments at key moments in an athlete’s journey.
While Melisa was not enrolled as a student at FEIA, we are proud to have supported her through training and development as part of her broader pathway to NCAA soccer.
⚽ Congratulations, Melisa! We wish you continued success as you take this exciting next step in Ann Arbor and continue to represent Canada on the international stage.
