FEIA Guards Portia Reisen and Jordyn Nohr Help Canada Win Five Times in the World Cup

With two FEIA players in their starting five, Team Canada won five games and lost two in the FIBA Under-17 Women’s Basketball World Cup in Czechia last week.
Portia Reisen and Jordyn Nohr helped Canada to a 5-0 record in early play.
Reisen lit up the gym with a game-high 24 points, including 6-of-9 from three-point range and plus-12 in plus-minus rating, as Canada defeated New Zealand 85-76.
In a squeaker, Reisen, an Ottawa native returning to FEIA for her Grade 11 year in September, had 10 points and three assists as her team shaded China 69-68.
The best game for Nohr, who hails from Langley, B.C., and played last year in prep school action for Capital Courts in Ottawa, featured nine points and three rebounds in a 76-56 win over Egypt. Reisen had six points in that one.
In a tournament-opening 69-54 victory over Italy, Reisen potted 14 points and Nohr three points, five assists and four rebounds. They both had six points in a 67-40 win over host Czechia.
Championship dreams for Canada ended in an 86-60 loss to eventual champion United States, despite 10 points from Reisen. It was their seventh title for the powerful Americans.
The Canucks lost the third-place match, 64-57 against Australia.
When the FEIA Lady Falcons begin their 2026-27 season this September, they will boast three of the top high school players in Canada in Reisen, Nohr and Amelia Sow, of Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaure, Quebec, the reigning national MVP.
