FEIA Basketball Makes International Statement with Undefeated Performance in Rome
Fort Erie International Academy's Boys National Basketball Team finishes 3–0 at The Grind Session in Italy, recording impressive victories against leading European and Middle Eastern basketball programs.
FORT ERIE, ONTARIO — November 2, 2026 — Fort Erie International Academy (FEIA) is celebrating an outstanding international achievement after its Boys National Basketball Team completed an undefeated run at The Grind Session basketball tournament in Rome, Italy.
Competing against high-level international opposition, FEIA recorded three consecutive victories to finish with a perfect 3–0 record, emerging as the only undefeated team at the tournament, according to Head Coach Kemy Osse.
The impressive performance included victories over two particularly strong opponents: a leading Italian youth basketball program and one of Dubai's top basketball programs.
For FEIA, the results represent another significant step in the development of its competitive basketball program and demonstrate the ability of its student-athletes to perform against talented opposition on the international stage.
Three Games. Three Victories. One Unforgettable Weekend.
Travelling from Fort Erie, Canada, to Rome, Italy, FEIA's Boys National Basketball Team embraced the opportunity to test itself against international competition.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Kemy Osse, the team delivered three victories, displaying the determination, teamwork and competitive spirit required to succeed at this level.
The victories against leading Italian and Dubai programs were particularly noteworthy, providing FEIA's student-athletes with valuable experience against opponents from different basketball environments and playing traditions.
Finishing the tournament undefeated was a proud moment for the players, coaching staff and the entire FEIA community.
Beyond the results, the experience offered an important opportunity for the team to develop its confidence, strengthen relationships and gain further exposure to international basketball.
Building a Basketball Program with International Ambition
FEIA's basketball program is built around a commitment to athletic development, academic achievement and preparing student-athletes for future opportunities.
International competitions such as The Grind Session in Rome provide an important platform for players to challenge themselves against high-level opposition while experiencing the demands of competitive basketball beyond North America.
The Rome tournament also highlighted the importance of preparation, teamwork and resilience — qualities that FEIA seeks to develop both on and off the court.
For aspiring basketball players considering an international education in Canada, experiences such as these demonstrate the opportunities available through FEIA's combination of academics, athletic training and competitive sport.
More Than Basketball: An Unforgettable Experience in Rome
While the team's undefeated performance was the highlight of the tournament, the experience extended far beyond the basketball court.
During their time in Italy, FEIA's student-athletes had the opportunity to explore Rome, one of the world's most historic and culturally significant cities.
The team visited internationally recognized landmarks, including the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain, creating lasting memories and sharing experiences that will remain with them long after the tournament.
These moments reflect an important part of the FEIA student experience.
International travel offers young athletes opportunities to develop independence, broaden their perspectives, experience different cultures and build friendships through shared experiences.
For many student-athletes, these opportunities are as meaningful as the competition itself.
The combination of international sporting achievement and cultural exploration made the Rome trip an exceptional experience for the entire team.
A Proud Moment for the FEIA Community
The success in Rome reflects the dedication of FEIA's student-athletes, the leadership of Head Coach Kemy Osse and the commitment of the school's basketball coaching staff.
Representing their school and Canada on an international stage, the players demonstrated the ambition and competitive spirit that FEIA continues to foster across its athletic programs.
Their achievement is a source of pride for the wider FEIA community, including fellow students, staff, families and supporters.
As the Boys National Basketball Team returns to Canada and prepares for its upcoming competitions, the experience in Rome provides valuable momentum for the season ahead.
Three games. Three wins. Undefeated in Rome.
An outstanding international achievement — and an unforgettable experience for FEIA's student-athletes.
