Discovery & Adventure Program Embarks on 3-Day Winter Camping Expedition
This week, students enrolled in FEIA’s Discovery & Adventure Program are taking learning beyond the classroom with a 3-day, 2-night Winter Camping expedition in Arrowhead Provincial Park, one of Ontario’s premier outdoor education destinations.
Weather permitting, students will participate in a fully supervised, immersive outdoor experience designed to build resilience, leadership, teamwork, and self-confidence in a true Canadian winter environment.
Planned activities include:
- Winter camping setup and shelter skills
- Snowshoeing and guided winter hikes
- Cold-weather survival skills and outdoor safety training
- Campfire cooking and meal preparation
- Team challenges and leadership exercises
- Environmental awareness and park exploration
This experiential learning opportunity reflects FEIA’s commitment to hands-on education, character development, and meaningful real-world experiences. Under the guidance of trained staff and outdoor leaders, students are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones while developing practical skills and a deeper appreciation for nature.
The Discovery & Adventure Program is a core part of FEIA’s holistic approach to education — blending academics, experiential learning, and personal growth to prepare students for life beyond school.
We wish our students a safe, memorable, and rewarding expedition and look forward to welcoming them back to campus with stories, skills, and experiences that will last a lifetime.
